If we’re going to fulfill the purpose and the reason for why we are a part of God’s kingdom, we have to step up, step out, and step in. Why? Because Gods hand is on us.
Psalm 139:5-11 “You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.
Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.”
We step out into the power of the living God. To be able to rise up and go forward.
We step up into his promotion. God lifts us to a whole nother level of influence and fruitfulness.
We step into his provision. Where his promises are “Yea” and “Amen” (2 Corinthians 1:20)
Raewyn and I began in the leadership role here in Harvest Christian Church in 1980. 39 years later, we have all that we see round about us. Through the years, we have felt God call us to stay here in Papakura. We’re still here, but now is a time that we move towards repositioning ourselves and transitioning the church to a new senior pastor and a new senior leader.
As we stated last year, pastor Mike and pastor Jan-Marie Lind have been accepted in this role. They come to our church and will be inducted on June 3rd. They will start here as Senior Executive Pastors and will have the responsibility of pastoral care and community outreach, a role they will continue in until June 2019 when they will take on the full responsibility of Senior Pastors and Senior Leaders.
Pastor Mike and Jan-Marie were pastors here for over 10 years. 15 years ago they shifted to Oamaru where they have been pastoring and in that time have also panted a church in Kurow, as well as supporting many missionaries.
Raewyn and I will continue in our current role until June 2019 when Pastor Mike and Jan-Marie will be inducted into the roles of Senior Leaders and Senior Pastors. By October 2019, Raewyn and I will have repositioned ourselves to 2 days a week in the life of our church. We will continue our involvement in foreign missions as well as helping churches in New Zealand and overseas.
This is totally new for the life of our church. That’s why we believe it’s important to continue to support what’s happening in the life of the church and the leadership of the current pastors and ministries.
