After days of heavy rain, including Sunday, the clouds finally began to lift and rain stopped by 3pm Sunday – just in time for the beginning of Harvest’s Family Carnival. Finally the sky cleared! God answered our prayers.
Families from the community arrived to check out and enjoy the free carnival. A Merry-Go-Round, Ferris Wheel and pony rides were in the front and back car parks and proved very popular.
Meanwhile in the Hall, the Bouncy Castle along with the trampoline got a good work-out, as well as the Confidence Course, which proved quite competitive. Free sausages were a draw card too, with hundreds given away. The auditorium had a café with free food & coffee at the back for parents / grandparents while they watched their children participate in various activities. At the front, various “Sessions” were run – e.g. “Dance” led by Emma Morris; JC’s singers & dancers performed; a “Kids Show” led by Reuben Poharama; “Music and Movement” by Ps Jo Molyneux, and more. All of these kept the children engaged and having fun.
Activities and games included a Dart Balloon Game, Carnival Can Toss, Kids Craft & Face Painting. Children and parents really appreciated these.
Overall, our Harvest Carnival was a great success and well attended. Special thanks to Heidi Molyneux and the many Harvest volunteers who made this a welcoming, family, fun time for our local community. Well done!
